Disclaimer and Limitations - EmailFootprint
1. Indexing limitations
EmailFootprint checks content that is publicly indexed at the time of the search.
Results depend on:
- search index availability
- crawl timing
- page accessibility
Not all publicly accessible content is indexed at all times.
2. No verification or validation
EmailFootprint does not:
- verify ownership of an email address
- confirm identity of any individual
- validate whether an email address is active
3. Breach data limitations
Breach records are sourced from HaveIBeenPwned, an independent third-party database. EmailFootprint does not compile, verify, or maintain breach data.
Regarding breach results:
- The absence of breach results does not guarantee that no breach has occurred — only that none was found in the available database at the time of the scan.
- Breach records reflect historical events and may be outdated. A breach appearing in results does not necessarily indicate a current security risk, particularly if the user has since changed their credentials.
- Some breach records in the database are unverified. Unverified breaches are labelled as such in results.
- EmailFootprint is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or currency of breach data provided by third parties.
4. No investigative or legal use
The service is not intended for legal proceedings, investigative work, or enforcement actions.
Results should not be treated as evidence or proof of any kind.
